I’m a person who always wants to get things right on the first try. If something doesn’t come naturally to me, my first instinct is to give up. Which is terrible! (Although I will say there are things I am so glad I gave up on. Video evidence from high school performances very firmly affirms that I was right to not pursue a career in dance.) So whenever I’m struggling and that voice creeps into my head, telling me to give up, I remind myself of how I felt when I started knitting. I was bad at it. I made a bunch of garbage. We’re talking ridiculously oversized hats, too tight leg warmers, and projects that never made it past the first couple rows. And you know what? Eventually I figured out what I was doing. And I love it. So with that in mind, here is the first post of my blog. I’m going to make mistakes, it might be bad at times, but maybe (just maybe) it will one day turn into something pretty great.
This is my knitting journey. I hope that by sharing my work I will be able to connect with, learn from, and inspire other makers.
